Description of Artwork: Arenfeld spit on a cross that was part of a religious procession outside of Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre in March 1995.



Description of Incident: In the original trial, a judge concluded that a religious disturbance had occured even though there was no act that tried to prevent the procession. The judge suggested that "freedom of expression has its limits."



Results of Incident: The appeals court upheld this ruling and enforced a two month sentence and $240.00 fine.
